Role: Singing Coach and Vocal Arranger

YEAR: 2004

Phil was the Singing Coach and Vocal Arranger on the film Kinky Boots, primarily coaching the award winning actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. Work on style, mic-technique and confidence was required to turn Chiwetel into Lola, a performing drag queen, and make her a believably "seasoned performer" and singer. Phil helped select the musical material, adapted it for Lola's voice and also arranged the 'Shoe Medley' for the Finale scene.
