Coaching the three original “Billies” in Billy Elliott The Musical

Phil works extensively as a singing coach on many reputable courses, including Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview, Arts Educational, Royal Academy of Music, London Studio Centre and Rose Bruford.

Since 2013, Phil has sat on the panel each year to find the Associate MD for Central School of Speech and Drama, sponsored by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation.

He has trained many established performers but also has great experience in coaching “non-singing” actors who need to deliver a song for film, TV or theatre. Phil concentrates on developing their technique, presentation and confidence to achieve an extremely professional performance.

Phil has spent much time working with children in theatre, TV, schools and workshops. He has also been a mentor for the charity Music for Youth for many years.

Working on Billy Elliot – The Musical, Phil helped to develop the original “Billies” Liam, James and George, leading to outstanding reviews and an unprecedented Olivier award for Best Actor, shared by the three boys, in 2006.
